Green Day
Keeping up with the spirit of Environment Day, “Green Days “, a Mantri Square Environment Initiative was a great success. Mantri Square launched its Earth Bag, an eco-friendly cloth bag and offered it to shoppers at Rs. 10 each. The proceeds were given to Cry World, and in a span of 3 days, we sold 5,000 bags!
To live up to the Environment Day theme, the Mall was decorated with eco-friendly Canvas and Bamboos. A spectacular “Plastic Man” sculpture was made by the talented students of Chitrakala Parishath for Mantri Square. We also had Green Peace, CUPA and Trees for Free putting up their kiosks during the 3 day ‘Environment Day’ promotion at the Mall.
Disney Mania
‘Disney Mania’ at Mantri Square was a roaring success. Many shoppers got themselves photographed with Lightning McQueen, the fastest car on the World Grand Prix. We thank all our loyal shoppers for making this event a grand success.

Mantri Square celebrated Environment Day on 4th and 5th June 2010 On the occasion of environment Day, the mall had ties up with 5 key NGOs to set up informative and interactive kiosks to talk about environment education and share simple ideas that would help conserve the environment. The NGOs were
Mother earth was given a special kiosk to sell eco friendly items at UG level A unique ‘Tree of Life’ was also made with the support of shoppers on this occasion. Mantri Square had set up a canvas of a bare tree at the mall at the start of the event. Shoppers were encouraged to pick up free saplings and every person who picked a sapling inked a green thumb on the canvas. Thus, greening the bare tree. At the end of the environment day celebration, the mall had a unique ‘Tree of life’ made by the green thumbs of Mantri Square shoppers. And a simple message of how everyone could lend a hand to greeting the city and environment was spread. In partnership with RED FM, the mall also had a musical session with top performers such as Raghu Dixit and a musical theatre performed by children. In partnership with TITAN watches we conducted a lucky draw and gave out 5 watches.
Friendship Day
Friendship day was celebrated at Mantri Square on 31st July – 1st August. Groups of friends participated in youthful fun and games – Guess your friends favourite items, group dumb charades and such. Also, for every purchase of Rs. 500/- made, they could click a group photo for free at the friendship wall at the mall.
Ambient percussion musical performance much appreciated by the shoppers was held on the third floor.
Independence Day and Crafts Habba
Mantri Square celebrated its first Independce day with patriotic fervor. The mall was decorated in Indian colours. A Freedom @ Night sale was on at the mall on the eve of Independence Day. The mall and all its stores were open till midnight on Saturday 14th August 2010 and special shopping offers were on from 8pm till midnight. Shoppers enjoyed the late night shopping and made the most of the special offers available. Asha, a housewife from Malleswaram said on the occasion, “This is a really unique promotion and it’s nice to celebrate the Indian Independence Day with such vigour and fervour. And the offers are so good; it makes the shopping more fun and enjoyable.”
To celebrate being Indian two additional events were held. A Crafts Habba was held at the mall from 13th to 22nd August where artisans and craftsmen from all over India showcased their artistry. Live demos of crafts were also held. A unique ‘Sounds of India’ program was also held over the weekend where live music stations showcased Indian Musical instruments with a musician sharing with the audience the uniqueness of the instruments and its many sounds. A patriotic message board was created at the Plaza level. Shoppers’ used saffron, white and green POST IT notes to communicate their emotions revolving around India and our freedom. The final outcome of messages was arranged in the tri colour sequence. This was in partnership with OFFICE DEPOT. A photo wall with an ornate frame cut out was created with an interesting backdrop was placed at the Plaza level. The shoppers clicked their photos. All in all a great celebration
Bangalore Mirror Gods of Gaming
Bangalore Mirror hosted its first Gods of Gaming event at Mantri Square Bangalore. A popular national event that has been held for the last 3 years at Mumbai and Delhi, this was the first time the event was at Bangalore. Mantri Square, with over 1.4 million visitors a month was the obvious venue choice for them. Held over 3 days from 23rd to 25th July, 2010, the event saw over 2,000 youngsters from 8 to 30 years participate in the event. This incidentally was the largest participation received for the event any where nationally. The contest had 3 games for individuals to compete and one group game (max 5 participants) too.
At the end of 3 days, the 9 individual game winners and 5 group game winners were declared. On winning the same, a winner commented, “I have been gaming for a long time and this was clearly an amazing place to do something like this. The experience was really cool and it feels awesome when you can beat so many people and emerge the winner.”
Visitors to Mantri Square can look forward to many more such events taking place at the mall all year round.
